Do you ever drift off while having a conversation, studying, attending a meeting, or training session?

Well, I do.

There is just too much going on and we are very distracted, We miss out on so many moments that we can never get back. We add no value to the conversations we partake in because we are too busy elsewhere.

Here's a few things you can try:

    1. Improve your listening skills

Listen to a song or podcast and try to make metal notes, Summarize what you hear. This will help to hear, listen and be able to respond as necessary.

    2. Be there, be mindful

                                                                                   tps://www.apa.org/images/tile-stress-mindfulness-meditation_tcm7-264379.jpg

Hold something cold or warm to keep your mind with your body.

Pinch your fingers together in a rhythm.

Do breathing exercises (try Breathe).

    3. Get rest

Yeah, no explanation here.

    4. Control your thoughts

De-clutter your busied mind. Try to cap your day dreaming by making a note of what your mind was drifting to and focus on it during a time when you can be preoccupied (during a shower or bath, while enjoying your morning cuppa).

    5. Small steps are better than none

Start small, with 5-10 minutes of undivided attention. And when your mind starts drifting take a small break.

If you, or someone you know. struggle(s) from concentration and have any other difficulties associated (such as withdrawal from others, lethargy, drowsiness) seek help as it may be caused by Concentration Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
